Terms & Conditions

The terms and conditions detailed below apply to all bookings whether made online at www.edinburghcastleapartments.com or made by telephone or in person or through our affiliate websites.
When you make a booking, your contract (which includes these terms and conditions) will be with Edinburgh Castle Apartments & Suites. All rates are subject to availability; all bookings are taken at the discretion of Edinburgh Castle Apartments & Suites.
The opening times for Edinburgh Castle Apartments & Suites call reservations 0131 2256964 are Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm, Saturdays & Sundays (Inc. Bank Holidays) 10am – 6pm. Calls may be recorded for training purposes.
You will be asked to guarantee your booking with a 50% deposit using a valid debit or credit card including your 3-digit security code. The final payment (50%) will be due on your arrival date.
For payment by credit card, we accept American Express, Visa, Euro/MasterCard, Maestro, and Switch. (Please note that use of American Express will result in a surcharge of 2.5% being added to your payment.) We reserve the right to pre-authorize credit cards prior to arrival.
The credit card used to book must be produced upon arrival (even for advance purchase bookings), unless guest will be paying using a different card. The cardholder must be present and will be asked for official photographic I.D. e.g. passport, driving license, national I.D. card etc.
Cancellation Policy
Please contact Edinburgh Castle Apartments & Suites as soon as possible. If you have reserved an apartment via one of our partners then please also contact your booking agent company.
If cancelled up to 30 days before date of arrival, no cancellation fee will be charged.
If cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival, 50 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Cancellation by Greyfriars Apartments
Very occasionally, we may have to cancel your booking. We will tell you as soon as possible, and offer you an alternative accommodation of the same standard, or higher, or offer a full refund. We regret we cannot pay compensation or any reimbursement of any expenses or costs you may incur as a result of any such cancellation or change.
Removal of Apartment property
Damage to Apartment property, Edinburgh Castle Apartments & Suites reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the apartment’s property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address. We will however make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
Lost / Damaged property
Please note that a full inventory of the apartment contents will be conducted prior to each guests’ arrival and then again on departure. Any loss or damage to property will be charged to the guests account and will be debited from the credit card details provided.
If we find any lost property, we will make every reasonable effort to locate the owner and return it, but if we cannot locate the owner and an item is not reclaimed with 3 months of the guest’s departure it will be disposed of by Edinburgh Castle Apartments.
Force Majeure
Edinburgh Castle Apartments & Suites cannot accept responsibility or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of the contract is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances which amount to “force majeure”. Circumstances amounting to “force majeure” include any event which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such circumstances include the destruction or damage of your accommodation (which cannot reasonably be remedied to a satisfactory standard before the start of your stay) through fire, flood, explosion, storm or other weather damage, break-in, criminal damage, riots or civil strife, industrial action, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, war or threat of war, actual or threatened terrorist activity, epidemic and all similar situations beyond our control.
All rates are per apartment per night as applicable and are subject to Government Value Added Tax (VAT) levied at the applicable rate. After 28 days VAT is only applied to 20% of the rate. Rates quoted are based on length of stay (unless otherwise stated in writing), please note that where a stay is shortened your nightly rate will be revised to reflect the new length of stay and will be applied to the whole stay.
Mobility Impaired 
Edinburgh Castle Apartments & Suites are not suitable for the mobility impaired due to the locations of the apartments and limited access.
Check in / Out times 
Check in time on day of arrival is from 2pm and check out time is 10am on day of departure. Earlier check in times and later check out times may be available subject to prior request and availability.
Smoking Policy 
All our UK properties are smoke free and penalty fees (£450) will be applied if you are found in violation of this condition
Extending Your Stay 
Extensions will require a new reservation for the additional date(s), subject to availability and prevailing rates, and are subject to a possible rate change.

In the unlikely event that you are disappointed with your apartment accommodation; you should contact the manager who will try to solve the problem. If after that you still feel that the problem has not been resolved to your reasonable satisfaction you should within 7 days of returning from the hotel put your comments in writing to our customer care team.

These terms and your booking are subject to the laws of the Scotland.
